Partner Determination Procedure in SAP CRM

Partner Determination Procedure(PDP)
                        PDP is a plan that specifies how, when, and from what sources the system determines partners in a business transaction, what partner functions are mandatory or suggested in this transaction.

Here is the Path in SPRO to define PDP

 Select Customer Relationship Management ® Basic Functions ® Partner Processing ® Define Partner Determination Procedure.
Generally Defining a PDP Contains following Structure.

The procedure consists of three levels:
·        Procedure User identifies the transaction categories and item object types to which the PDP applies.
·        Partner Functions in Procedure lists the partner functions involved and specific settings for each function.

·        User Interface Settings list which partner functions are shown in the transaction header, and specifies how partners' addresses are displayed.

Lets have a look at the Standard PDP ( 00000004 - Opportunities ):


·        Procedure User : This PDP is applied to  Business Activity/CRM Opportunity Transaction Categories
·        Partner Functions in Procedure Partner functions maintained in this PDP are Sales Representative, Employee responsible, Contact Person, sales prospect and competitor.

Avoid changing existing determination procedures. Create new determination procedures using the assistant or by copying existing determination procedures and then changing the copies accordingly.
